This service is perfect to for the person who doesn’t know (or want to know!) anything about their accounts or taxes, and who wants to spend their time on their business or other priorities, not accounts.

The “DIY” Electronic Package
This option suits computer savvy people who are happy to spend a little time compiling their information into an electronic format which is easier to input and process. It’s also a way of reducing your fees from the full service levels.
In this option, you provide your business transaction details (or totals) in one of a range of electronic formats. For example this could be a download extracted from online banking with narrations added where necessary.

Tax Return Only
In some cases, no financial statements are required, but a taxpayer is still required to file an income tax return (for example if they have a loss brought forward).

Nil Financial Statement and Tax Return
Where a business has not been active for the current tax year, but is expected to resume activity in the future, it may be necessary to complete a set of financial statements containing few or no transactions. Income tax return(s) will also be required.
Nil Financial Statements and Tax Return(s): $258.75 per annum
**Fee Quotes
The fee packages above are maximum charges and are binding for two years. They are based on the hours required, on average, to complete financial statements and taxes given different levels of information provided.
If you select a package and the processing of your information takes less time than the average to complete, your fees will be reduced to reflect that. (Fees for preparation of GST returns are fixed; adjustments will be made to the annual accounts charge).
After processing tax returns for two years, it will be clear if the standard fee level is an actual reflection of the work required and your maximum fee quote may be adjusted (up or down) by mutual agreement. (Your fee may still be below this new figure if the hours required are less than expected.)

Rapid Service Surcharge
The IRD charges $50 (sometimes $250) per return for returns that are filed late. This charge is not tax deductible.
Kellett Accounting Solutions Limited does whatever possible to make sure that all clients’ returns are filed on time and gives regular reminders to all clients of upcoming deadlines.

For income tax return information received less than 14 days before the filing deadline, and GST return data received less than 48 hours before the deadline, there is an rapid service surcharge of $57.50 ($50 plus GST), which, unlike the late filing penalty, IS tax deductible. (If your return is not filed on time for any reason, the surcharge will not be charged but you will have to pay the IRD’s late filing penalty.)
